Drink more water. Water is important for multiple functions of your body, and it is much healthier than sugary drinks. You generally need to drink four to six cups of water per day, but each person is different. You also get water from other drinks, fruits, and vegetables.
Move your body in a way that feels good. Exercise improves mental health, strengthens your bones and muscles, lowers the chance of heart conditions, and has many other benefits. However, remember not to push yourself too hard because overtraining can be harmful.
Sleep 7–8 hours if you can. Sleep is important for heart, respiratory, and immune health. It also helps you learn and focus. The recommended amount for teenagers is 8-10 hours, and adults should get 7 hours or more.
Take breaks from toxic social media. This can improve your mood, self-esteem, relationships, and productivity. While not using social media, you can start new hobbies, hang out with friends, and more.
Keep a health journal—track moods, periods, habits. When you keep a health journal, you can check for abnormalities (examples: sudden changes in mood and early/late periods). You can also use it to set goals and write motivational statements. Personally, I find writing in a journal relaxing, so writing can feel nice after a long, stressful day.
Share what you learn with a friend. Talking to a friend can help motivate you. Also, by spreading information, you are promoting a healthier lifestyle for many people.
